Health & Medical Self-Improvement

Gratitude + Attitude = Altitude

Don't Worry - Be Grateful: I remember reading an article published on TheNew York Times called "A Serving of Gratitude May Save the Day.
Within this article, medical researchers confirmed that having gratitude has been associated with improving people's health by allowing them to sleep more soundly because stress, anxiety, and depression levels are decreased.
In addition, people who expressed gratitude on a regular basis also made grander progress at achieving their goals in life.
Reason being is these individuals typically are more enthused, alert, energized, determined, focused, and optimistic because gratitude fosters positive attitude! Use Your Attitude Key To Open Doors: "A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights in our worlds; it seems to magically connect us to all sorts of serendipitous opportunities that were somehow absent before the change.
" - Earl Nightingale.
As mentioned, people who expressed their gratitude regularly will always have a more positive attitude and outlook in life because they're grateful and thankful for every blessing.
Earl Nightingale, who is considered by many as the "Dean of Personal Development," hit the nail on the head with the quote listed above.
With the right attitude in place, serendipitous opportunities will begin to appear.
Let me give you a few examples:
  • Christopher Columbus was looking for a new route to India in 1492 and accidentally ended up on the shores of The Americas.
  • A chemist noticed that oil workers would apply a white excretion from pipes onto scratches which led to the creation of the Vaseline Petroleum Jelly.
  • An inventor made glue that failed to stick permanently and the Post-It Notes was born.
  • Charles Goodyear unintentionally left a piece of rubber mixture with sulfur on a hot surface and ended creating Vulcanized Rubber.
  • Percy Spencer was conducting test on a magnetron for radar sets and noticed that the peanut candy bar in his pocket had melted when exposed to radar waves, thus inventing the Microwave Oven.
"Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
" - Zig Ziglar.
This quote is true to a certain extent.
While expressing gratitude and fostering a positive attitude will help you unlock many doors and reach new heights in life, it's still up to you to make it to the door, turn the key, and walk through those doors.
Therefore, you would still need to plan accordingly, do your due diligence, along with working hard in order to reap the benefits of those serendipitous opportunities.
Only then will this simple formula help you achieve your version of success and fulfillment!
